How are switch capacity and the PoE budget calculated?
We account for device count, speed, real power draw, startup demand, headroom and future growth, then size access switches, uplinks and standby power around the chosen architecture.
When is network redundancy required?
Redundancy is justified where service continuity matters. The design sets the appropriate level across switches, links, power and pathways according to outage impact and budget.
Are security systems separated from the user network?
They are normally segmented using suitable VLANs, access policies and management controls, with firewall, addressing, time and backup requirements coordinated with the IT team.
